Brabham’s BT62 family has gained a new member in the BT62R, joining the Ultimate Track and Competition variants. Unlike its two siblings, the ‘R’ can be driven on the road legally, which should make it an even more desirable purchase. The BT62R is available in either left or right-hand drive, and can be finished in either a Signature Series livery or a Celebration Series livery, honoring Brabham’s F1 accolades.

Highlights include variable ride heights for driving in different conditions (road vs. track), a new exhaust system for a more reduced cabin noise, air conditioning, heated windscreen, optional speaker system, new front splitter and rear diffuser, new road seat design and road tires.

Meanwhile, if you opt for a Celebration Series model, you also get 18 carat gold logos and badges, bespoke carbon interior and an exclusive Track Pack (rear wing, splitter and diffuser).

Last but certainly not least there’s the 5.4-liter powertrain, which Brabham claims is the highest-output naturally aspirated V8 on the market. It produces 700 HP and 667 Nm of torque, harnessed through a six-speed sequential gearbox with revised ratios more suitable for road use.

Naturally, in order for the BT62R to be road legal, it had to get a remote-operated door locking system, plus all the required lighting, side mirrors and various other utilities, such as a digital dashboard that works alongside a rear-facing camera so you can see behind you while you’re backing up.

The first Brabham BT62R will be delivered in the coming weeks.
