Lynk & Co has teased a new fastback
model it will premiere at the Beijing Auto Show opening on September 26th. The
Geely-owned automaker has released a host of models in recent years and this
fastback is shaping up to be one of its most attractive. It is currently
codenamed the DC1E and brings the company’s identifiable design language into a
sleek body that stands out from the 03 sedan as well as the 01 and 02 SUVs.
The front of the Lynk & Co DC1E
features a set of small headlights with vertical LED daytime running lights.
These teaser images also reveal it will have pop-out door handles and frameless
doors while the rear will include LED taillights, a light bar, and a subtle
roof spoiler. However, it is not the design that is the headline of the DC1E.
Instead, it is the fact that it will be all-electric.
Local reports claim the DC1E will land
with a 100 kWh battery pack and that it will be sold in rear-wheel drive and
all-wheel drive configurations. The rear-wheel drive model will be primarily
focused on range and could travel up to 725 km on a single charge.
Meanwhile, the all-wheel drive model may have a range of around 635 km based on the NEDC standard.
Underpinning the new Lynk & Co model
will be a new Pure Electric Modular Architecture (PMA) that will allegedly be
used by electric vehicles from Geely, Volvo, and Polestar in the future. The
DC1E is also set to receive a Level 3 driver assistance suite.
