Mini is looking to generate new interest for the John Cooper Works 3-Door Hatch and JCW Convertible in Australia with the launch of the limited-run Nightfall Editions. Both the hatchback and convertible variants of the Mini JCW are finished in Enigmatic Black Metallic paint and all chrome surfaces such as the headlight covers, door handles and waistline finishes have been re-trimmed in Piano Black.

A host of other exterior modifications have been made, such as the fitment of a carbon fiber hood scoop, carbon fiber tailpipe surrounds, a new sports braking system, 17-inch black wheels and model-specific badging. Inside, the Nightfall Edition gets piano black interior surfaces and carbon black Dinamica/Leather John Cooper Works sports seats. Drivers also receive a John Cooper Works steering wheel finished in Alcantara, as well as a JCW carbon fiber handbrake lever and a panoramic sunroof on the hatchback.

Both the Hatch and Convertible variants of the Nightfall Edition retain the JCW’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with 228 hp and 320 Nm of torque driving the front wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The hatch hits 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds while the convertible needs 6.5 seconds.

Just 40 examples of the hatch will be built, while production of the convertible will be capped at 10 units. The Mini hatch and convertible have eye-watering driveaway prices of AU$ 70,990 (US$ 51,574) and AU$ 75,290 (US$ 54,698) respectively.
