The Hongqi HS7 SUV has just stretched its wheelbase to become the HS7+ in China. Presented at the 2020 Beijing Auto Show, the crossover is the long wheelbase variant of the regular HS7 that came out a couple of years ago, with 500 mm added between the two axles and 90 mm to the height.
Visually, apart from the dimensions, the
new HS7+ hasn’t really changed, as it still sports a huge bucktooth grille up
front, with chrome surround and vertical slats that would make modern BMWs
jealous. The LED headlights flank it on each side, and further back, it has
integrated side steps that improve ingress and egress, long roof rails and a
clean tailgate design with the ‘HS7+’ and ‘50TD’ logos, chrome strip joining
the taillights together and a diffuser with integrated tailpipes.
Inside, the new HS7+ offers tons of
legroom at the back. It also sports individual rear seats separated by a
console with an integrated screen, and the front and rear passenger
compartments have been divided by a partition wall that boasts a dashboard-like
design. Elsewhere, the example shown in Beijing has white and green leather
with green piping, and lots of golden accents that provide an interesting
contrast.
Power is reportedly provided by a supercharged
V6 with 3.0 liters in displacement. The engine pumps out 332 HP and 445 Nm of torque and is paired to an eight-speed automatic
transmission and all-wheel drive.
