Seat has announced the pricing details of Leon’s plug-in version, the E-Hybrid, for the UK market, where customers can now place their orders. The new Leon E-Hybrid, which starts from £ 30,970 (US$ 39,875), is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.4-liter TSI engine with an electric motor, for a system output of 201 HP. The Leon E-Hybrid is offered exclusively with a six-speed DSG transmission.
The carmaker claims that the Leon E-Hybrid
offers an EV range of 58 km, courtesy of a 13 kWh lithium-ion
battery that can be fully charged in less than 4 hours via a 3.6kW AC inlet.
The 0-100 km/h sprint takes in 7.5 seconds, with the Leon E-Hybrid
emitting just 27 g/km of CO2 on the WLTP cycle. As for the combined fuel
economy, this is rated between 217.3 and 235.4 mpg UK, again on the WTLP cycle.
In addition, UK customers can now order
the new Seat Leon with the mild-hybrid 1.0-liter eTSI engine, which is paired
with a DSG transmission on all trim levels and is priced from £ 22,720
(US$ 29,259). The new eTSI powertrain features a 48-volt starter-generator and a
lithium-ion battery to assist the engine during acceleration, enable coasting
with it turned off, and harvest energy under deceleration.
The new Seat Leon starts from £ 19,855
(US$ 25,570) in the base 1.0 TSI SE model that features LED headlights, an
8.0-inch infotainment system, a leather steering wheel, and keyless start as
standard. The bigger 10-inch infotainment system, together with a 10.25-inch digital
instrument cluster, is fitted as standard on the SE Dynamic.
