The Everest BaseCamp is now available at Ford’s dealers in Australia as a 450-unit limited edition model enhanced with several new features. Based on the Trend 3.2L 4×4 and Turbo 2.0L Bi-Turbo variants, the BaseCamp is available from AU$ 64,990 (US$ 47.350) and AU$ 66,490 (US$ 48,443) respectively, a AU$ 2,200 (US$ 1,603) premium, with Ford claiming the price increase actually represents AU$ 6,000 (US$ 4,371) of added value.
Setting it apart from the rest of the
family are the ‘BaseCamp’ decals on the front doors, grey painted grille,
fender vents, front and rear skid plates and wheels. The Everest BaseCamp is
also fitted with black roof-mounted carry bars, snorkel, LED light bar, 76-mm diameter black nudge bar, awning and tow bar rated at 3,000 kg for the 3.2-liter engine and 3,100 kg for the bi-turbo
offering.
The four-wheel drive Everest Sport that
was introduced last year is now available with rear-wheel drive too, packing
the same 2.0-liter bi-turbo engine that kicks out 210 HP and
500 Nm of torque and has a 3,100 kg towing capability. Priced
from AU$ 59,990 (US$ 43,707), it features a black mesh grille, bumpers, tailgate
applique, roof rails and side mirror caps, 20-inch black alloy wheels, ‘Sport’
decals, 3D ‘Everest’ badge, leather upholstery with special embossing and
soft-top instrument panel with unique blue stitching.
Both the Everest BaseCamp and Everest
Sport are equipped with autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection,
lane-keeping aid with driver alert, cruise control, emergency assist, trailer
sway control, reversing camera, rear parking sensors, traffic sign recognition
and other safety gear. The final upgrade of the 2021 Everest is the restyled
grille on the Trend and Titanium trim levels.
