Nissan is finally working on a new Z car but over at Infiniti, they’re introducing the 2021 Q60. Since this is just a model year update, changes are pretty small and include a revised color palette that now features Grand Blue and Slate Gray. The only other exterior change is newly standard rain-sensing wipers.
Despite the minor changes, prices have
crept up as the 2021 Q60 Pure starts at US$ 41,650 which is US$ 300 more than last
year’s model. It features a familiar twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 that produces 300
hp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is connected
to a seven-speed automatic transmission which can be backed up by an optional
all-wheel drive system for an additional US$ 2,000.
Moving up the trim ladder is the Q60 Luxe
which starts at US$ 50,200. That’s US$ 4,700 more than its predecessor, but the car
now comes equipped with semi-aniline leather seats, a remote starter and a
newly available Dynamic Sunstone Red exterior. The coupe also gains a heated
steering wheel, heated front seats and power lumber support for the driver.
There’s also a host of driver assistance systems including blind spot warning,
a surround view monitor, lane departure warning and forward emergency braking
with pedestrian detection.
The range-topping Q60 Red Sport 400
returns, but prices climb US$ 950 to US$ 58,100. That’s a significant hike and
there’s no new equipment to cushion the blow. However, the car does have a
twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 that produces 400 hp and 475 Nm of torque. The model also features an adaptive suspension, beefier
brakes and an upgraded cabin with carbon fiber trim.
The 2021 Infiniti Q60 is currently
available to order and will arrive at U.S. dealerships before the end of the
year.
