Nissan has released U.S. pricing for the 2021 Maxima which gets a new 40th Anniversary Edition and a reorganization of the lineup. Going on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide, the 2021 Maxima is available in SV, SR and Platinum grades, plus the 40th Anniversary Edition. The former S and SL base and mid-range trim levels have been ditched for the new model year.
Prices start from US$ 36,990 for the now
entry-level SV, marking a US$ 690 increase over the 2020 Maxima SV. The total
increase is actually US$ 720 when you factor in the – now higher – destination and
handling fee of US$ 925. The SR will set you back US$ 42,150 (up US$ 730), with the range-topping Platinum available from US$ 42,220 (up US$ 710). As for
the 40th Anniversary package, it’s priced at US$ 2,125 on top of the Platinum – US$ 44,345 to be exact.
The 2021 Maxima 40th Anniversary Edition
brings exterior and interior upgrades over the Platinum. On the outside, it
sports a unique two-tone Ruby Slate Gray Pearl exterior color with black roof,
exclusive 19-inch gloss black alloys, black exterior finishers and trim badges
(including 40th Anniversary badge), and black exhaust finishers.
Inside, passengers are treated to red
semi-aniline leather seats with 40th Anniversary embossing, red contrast
interior stitching, Satin Dark Chrome interior faceted finishers, heated rear
seats, as well as white speedometer and tachometer faces reminiscent of past
Maxima models.
Nothing changes under the hood as the 2021
Maxima continues with the same 300 HP 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 mated to an
Xtronic CVT driving the front wheels.
