The SEMA Show is underway and Toyota has
used the digital event to unveil the Overland-Ready Tacoma. Created by 4WD
Toyota Owner Magazine, the one-off truck is described as the “ultimate outdoor
lifestyle rig featuring a slew of off-road performance upgrades that align with
the Tacoma’s ‘go anywhere now’ personality.”
Based on the Tacoma TRD Pro, the model
features an aluminum front bumper, a winch and LED auxiliary lights. The truck
also sports roof and bed racks as well as a steel rear bumper with dual
swingouts. You can also see 16-inch matte black wheels wrapped in meaty
BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires. The upgrades don’t end there as the Tacoma
features a Yakima SkyRise cargo bed tent, a Hi-Lift jack and a PowerTank PT10
air compressor. There are also fuel and water storage containers from Rotopax.
The modifications are more than just skin
deep as the Overland-Ready Tacoma has an upgraded suspension that includes an
add-a-leaf package from ToyTec as well as BOSS Aluma 2.5 Series shocks and
coilovers. Other highlights include new upper and lower control arms, a locking
rear differential, skid plates and rock sliders.
Under the hood, the Tacoma’s 3.5-liter V6
engine has been equipped with a Magnuson TVS1900 supercharger. It enables the
mill to produce 370 hp and 447 Nm of torque,
which is a sizable increase of 92 hp and 88 Nm.
