Geely has facelifted its Emgrand and Emgrand GL models yet again, despite the former getting an update last spring and the latter in March this year.
The regular Emgrand sports a more laconic
bumper at the front and a more intricately designed one at the rear, complete
with light reflectors and decorative inserts. The radiator grille, wheels and
brake light patterns are also new.
The infotainment system keeps its eight-inch
touch-enabled display, but gets rid of hardware “hot keys”. Higher trim levels
come with an optional dual-tone cabin. The powertrains remain unchanged: the
1.5-liter one still works in tandem with a five-speed M/T or CVT for 109 PS. The 1.8-liter engine goes full manual and offers 133 PS.
The Emgrand GL is essentially the second
generation of the base model. It has barely changed except for the redesigned
grille, LED headlights and a few added safety features. You can now opt for a
two-tone interior trim, and the engine range remains without changes.
Sales in China will begin soon. Prices
remain unannounced, but the current Geely Emgrand starts from US$ 10,700,
while the Emgrand GL goes for US$ 11,900 and above.
