The Geely Xingyue, also known as the Tugella, is the first and so far the only car designed by the Chinese automaker using Volvo’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). However, things promise to change soon with the introduction of a new crossover SUV temporarily called the KX11.
These images come from Geely and are
official, although smaller details are hard to see due to a full wrap.
Multi-section headlights look like a stand-in for a different model, and
recognizable features are few and far between. Even so, it is reasonable to
expect the KX11 to share its design philosophy with the recently introduced
Preface sedan, which is also a CMA-based car.
The Geely Xingyue/Tugella shown in the
video is a coupe, while the KX11 looks like crosswagon. It appears larger than
the Geely BoYue/Atlas and might even be a seven-seater. The powertrain likely
includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
We should learn more when the model
premieres in the first half of 2021.
