Spy photographers have caught the BMW M5 CS on numerous occasions, but now the company is finally gearing up to unveil the highly anticipated model. In a new teaser video, BMW M CEO Markus Flasch showcases the model ahead of its debut next month.

As you can see the clip, the super sedan is based on the M5 Competition and features a unique grille with a gold bronze surround. The model has also been equipped with motorsport-inspired yellow headlights and forged aluminum wheels, which are backed up by carbon ceramic brakes with red calipers.

While the video doesn’t provide a peek inside the cabin, Flasch said the M5 CS will have carbon fiber bucket seats from the M3 and M4. He went on to say the model is a “true four seater” so we can expect something special in the rear as well. Flasch was coy on specifics, but confirmed the car will produce 626 hp. That’s a slight increase over the M5 Competition which has a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 developing 616 hp and 750 Nm of torque.

Besides the power boost, the M5 CS has gone on a serious diet as the model has dropped 70 kg. This means we can expect a DIN weight of 1,825 kg. With more power and less weight, the M5 CS should easily outperform the M5 Competition which runs from0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and can hit a top speed of up to 305 km/h. Of course, we won’t find out how fast the car is until this dreadful year comes to a close.
