Britain’s police, ambulance and fire and rescue services can now order Skoda’s new electrified vehicles, the Octavia vRS iV, Octavia iV and Superb iV, each one available in two body styles. Marketed as being “ideal for any rapid response police unit”, the Octavia vRS iV is powered by a 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine and an electric motor.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain generates a
combined output of 245 PS and 400 Nm of torque,
for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint of 7.3 seconds and a 225 km/h top speed. The 13 kWh lithium-ion battery offers an electric range of up to 63
km.
Standard features include adaptive full
LED Matrix headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, 10-inch touchscreen display and
10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, among others.
Positioned right under the vRS model, the
Octavia iV will join the emergency service fleet. The plug-in hybrid powertrain
consists of a 1.4-liter TSI engine paired to an electric motor and a 13 kWh
battery, with a total output of 204 PS and 350 Nm of torque, and up to 69 km of range on zero emissions.
Packing the same unit as the Octavia iV
and the Octavia vRS iV, albeit de-tuned to 218 PS and 400 Nm, and an electric range of 60 km, the Superb iV completes
the brand’s blue-light range.
All vehicles will receive the bespoke
emergency service conversion treatment, including the 360-degree lighting and
the full integration of the communication system into the infotainment system.
