Kia has presented the 2021 Mohave in Korea, an updated version of its body-on-frame SUV. The vehicle has become smarter with the addition of a semi-autonomous driving system, which works on the highway and in congested traffic.
In addition to this, the Mohave also
features a smart navigation-based cruise control that adjusts the speed for
highway entrance and exit. The Forward Collision Avoidance Assist-Junction
Crossing assists those behind the wheel at crossroads by automatically applying
the brakes if it senses a risk of collision with other vehicles.
A new head-up display that has grown from
8.5 to 10 inches, is also part of the package for 2021. The system adds a new
function that displays the road curvature information and the lane change
indicators. Another novelty is the smart posture control, a system that
automatically adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel and side mirrors
according to the driver’s height. Wireless smartphone charging is standard
across the range and the 2021 Mohave is now quieter, with the addition of the
thicker front windows.
Power is still supplied by the 3.0-liter
V6 engine, which meets the Euro 6 RDE emissions standard. The turbodiesel
produces 256 HP and 560 Nm of torque, and works
in concert with an 8-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
The 2021 Mohave is offered in three trim
levels, with Korean pricing starting at 48.69 million won (US$ 44,525)
for the entry-level Platinum. The Masters starts at 52.86 million won (US$ 48,338)
and the Gravity can be had from 56.94 million won (US$ 52,069).
