Volkswagen has just pulled the wraps off the 2021 Teramont for the Russian market, where it will go on sale this spring. Visually, it looks identical to the Atlas sold in America, sporting the same front and rear bumpers, air intakes, exhaust trim and so on, with the only exception being that it displays the ‘Teramont’ lettering in the middle of the tailgate instead of ‘Atlas’.
The cockpit is also the same and includes
all the amenities expected from a large SUV, from the infotainment system with
smartphone integration, to the digital instrument cluster, multi-zone automatic
climate control, optional leather upholstery, sunroof etc., joined by the
generous storage spaces and very decent room for backseat occupants.
The Teramont sold in Russia is offered in
four trim levels. The entry-level Respect comes with an 8-inch touchscreen
display, wireless charging pad for compatible smartphones, 3-zone A/C, heated
front seats, electric tailgate, keyless entry, adaptive cruise control and
several safety features.
The Status adds body-colored bumpers,
ventilated front seats with electric adjustment for the driver, leather
upholstery, adaptive headlights and park assist. The Exclusive brings larger
20-inch wheels and additional safety gear, while the R-Line features the
exclusive R-Line exterior and interior styling package, Nappa leather
upholstery and others. The Teramont is available with two petrol engines, a 217
HP 2.0-liter TSI and a 245 HP VR6, both
mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive.
