Having shown the tuned BMW X7 Dirt Edition right before the Winter Holidays, Manhart has now uncovered another project that takes the X5 M Competition to the extreme. Starting with the powertrain, the super SUV has received a custom turbo kit, complete with the aftermarket intercooler, and an in-house MHtronik unit / ECU remap that have unleashed a stunning 823 PS and 1,080 Nm of torque.

That’s a healthy jump over the stock 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which produces 625 PS and 750 Nm. The tuner refrained from releasing the new 0 to 100 km/h sprint time and max speed, but it has definitely shaved a few tenths of a second from the official 3.8 seconds required by the standard X5 M Competition, which can max out at 250 km/h, or 290 km/h when equipped with the optional M Driver’s Package.

To better cope with all that thrust, the eight-speed automatic transmission is said to have been upgraded too, while the Wuppertal suspension, which has lowered it by 30 mm, and Manhart’s stainless steel muffler with valve control and four 100 mm tailpipes complete the technical mods.

As for its looks, the tuned X5 M Competition, which was baptized the MHX5 800 by the tuner, is finished in black with gold trim and sports a new front spoiler, hood, side skirts, rear diffuser and carbon fiber mirror caps, and rides on 10.5×22-inch forged rims, wrapped in 295/30 tires. A black and gold-ish color combo was used for the upholstery inside, and the steering wheel features carbon fiber trim, the tuner’s logo in the middle and bigger paddle shifters behind it.
