Buyers in select European markets can begin ordering the new Jeep Wrangler 4xe First Edition plug-in hybrid, using their dedicated local websites. Currently, you can only place orders in Italy, France, Germany and Switzerland, but Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria will soon follow. Order books for the Wrangler 4xe First Edition will stay open until mid-March.

This “all-inclusive” First Edition spec comes with the carmaker’s easyWallbox for more efficient home charging, plus a Mode 3 cable for public charging. You also get a Cargo Organizer, 4xe car cover, 3 years extended warranty (total of 5 years), as well as access to the Jeep Wave customer care program.

In terms of exterior colors, First Edition buyers get a choice of Black, Granite Crystal and Bright White, which according to Jeep are the colors “most beloved by European customers”. Standard features include Granite Crystal accents, 18-inch wheels, full LED headlights, hard cover for spare tire, 8.4-inch Uconnect sat-nav system plus a wide range of active safety goodies like Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning Plus, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Path Detection, rear camera, new front camera, front and rear parking sensors and Keyless Enter ‘N Go.

The First Edition is said to be the most comprehensive trim in the Wrangler 4xe range, while the latter is considered the most technologically advanced and capable Wrangler ever. It’s powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline unit, working alongside two electric motor generators and a high-voltage 17 kWh battery for a total output of 375 HP (380 PS) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque. Its maximum electric range is rated at 25 miles (40 km).

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe First Edition costs € 76,000 (US$ 92,577) in Germany, € 73,100 (US$ 89,000) in Italy, € 71,700 (US$ 87,340) in France and CHF 84,900 (€ 78,788 / US$ 95,973) in Switzerland.
