Smart has revisited the EQ ForTwo, making it a bit posher for the 2021 model year, with a new special edition dubbed the BlueDawn. Finished in matte velvet blue, it features black accents all around, including on the front spoiler, grille, side mirror caps, rear diffuser and fabric roof, and black ‘Smart’ lettering on both ends.
The zero-emission city car sits on 16-inch
monoblock light-alloy wheels with Brabus hub cabs. The tuner also signed other
parts of the EQ ForTwo Edition BlueDawn, such as the side skirts, black velour
floor mats with the ‘Edition BlueDawn’ lettering inside, and gearshift lever.
The Cool & Audio Package, heated
seats, and digital radio are some of the features offered as standard in the
new model, which is available in the Pulse and Prime trim lines in Germany.
Pricing starts at € 28,920 (US$ 35,125), including tax, for the Pulse and
€ 29,229.99 (US$ 35,502) for the Prime variant.
In addition to its home market, the EQ
ForTwo Edition BlueDawn is also available in the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain,
France, Portugal, Switzerland, Hungary, and Benelux, and will start arriving at
dealers in April.
Smart’s entire EQ range, which includes
the ForTwo Coupe, ForTwo Cabrio, and ForFour, uses an electric motor that
generates a maximum output of 81 PS and up to 160 Nm of torque and a 17.2 kWh battery pack. The two-seater coupe can
accelerate to 100 km/h in 11.6 seconds, while the Cabrio and four-door
are 0.3 and 1.1 seconds slower respectively. All of them have a maximum speed
of 130 km/h and offer a driving range of around 130 km on
the WLTP cycle.
