The 2021 Ford Expedition has become more affordable with the launch of the XL STX trim level. Priced at US$ 49,995 excluding handling and destination, it is US$ 2,815 more affordable than the XLT. The XLT Max and Limited start at US$ 54,810 and US$ 61,575 respectively, the Limited Max and King Ranch can be bought from US$ 63,575 and US$ 72,735, and the King Ranch Max and Platinum are available from US$ 74,735 and US$ 73,775.
The new Expedition XL STX offers seating
for five exclusively and comes bundled with an eight-way power driver’s seat,
40/20/40 split bench, SYNC 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen
display, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, AppLink, 911 Assist,
four USB ports, tri-zone automatic climate control and 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot.
On the outside, it features a glossy black
grille with five horizontal slats and 18-inch Magnetic Metallic-painted
aluminum wheels. Power comes from a turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that
produces 375 HP and 637 Nm of torque. A non-limited-slip 3.15 rear
axle, Class IV trailer hitch receiver, stop/start function and active grille
shutters are standard, while four-wheel drive with an electronic limited-slip
differential costs extra.
Customers can also spec the SUV with the
Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow Package, which adds a trailer brake, upgraded radiator,
3.73 rear axle and Pro Trailer Backup Assist. With this option, the vehicle’s
towing capacity is 4,218 kg with 2WD and 4,173 kg with
4WD.
