The U.S. launch of the EQC may have been delayed yet again, but on the other side of the pond Mercedes-Benz has extended its range with two new variants, the EQC 400 4Matic and the EQC 400 4Matic AMG Line. The new base model of Mercedes‘ electric crossover is listed from € 66,068.80 (US$ 80,134) in Germany, including tax but excluding government incentives, whereas the sportier version has a recommended retail price of € 73,208.80 (US$ 88,794).
The EQC 400 4Matic AMG Line gets the
eponymous package, which features a black grille with chrome details, specific
front apron, glossy black inserts, functional Air Curtains, wider rear apron,
nonfunctional air outlets, black diffuser with chrome trim, side mirror casings
in the same color as the exterior and 19-inch light alloy wheels in tantalum
grey.
Standard gear also includes front sports
seats with specific AMG pattern, Artico leather and Dinamica microfiber
upholstery, grey topstitching, Nappa-look leather for the dashboard, rose gold
or medium grey stitching, black door cards with black stitching, carbon fiber
effect trim in anthracite, sports steering wheel wrapped in leather, sports
pedals with black rubber studs, chrome door pins and AMG floor mats.
The EQC 400 4Matic AMG Line also features
the interior light package, seat comfort package, mirror package, tirefit,
easy-pack luggage compartment cover, thermal and noise-insulating glass,
advanced sound system, ambient lighting, and active parking assist with
parktronic. Starting January 2021, the Mercedes EQC has an 11 kW onboard
charger that allows for much more rapid AC charging of the 80 kWh battery at a
home wallbox or at public charging stations. The electric crossover’s
dual-motor setup puts out 408 PS and 760 Nm of
torque, enabling it to hit 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds as well as a 180
km/h top speed.
