The new plug-in hybrid Tucson sports a
1.6-liter T-GDI Smartstream engine, a 91 PS electric motor and
a 13.8 kWh lithium-polymer battery that enables a zero-emission range of up to
50 km. The combined output is 265 PS and 350 Nm of torque, for a 0-100 km/h of 8.6 seconds and a 190
km/h top speed. The new Tucson PHEV uses a shift-by-wire six-speed
automatic transmission and HTRAC all-wheel drive with Terrain Mode selector
that optimizes power, torque and braking depending on the road conditions for
improved traction.
