What you’re looking at is the 2022 Lexus NX, the next generation of the Japanese premium SUV, with the first images surfacing online ahead of its official reveal. The images, originally found on ClubLexus.com, are screenshots of a short video that was leaked online, revealing the new design language of the 2022 NX, as well as the new interior.

Not many details have been made known about the next-generation NX, but previous reports suggested that the Japanese luxury carmaker would move its compact crossover on Toyota’s global luxury platform in a bid to make it even more premium.

The new platform is expected to be combined with a new plug-in hybrid powertrain as well, which will be available from launch, as well as the latest driver-assistance and safety systems and a bigger infotainment system with more connectivity options.

The images reveal that the next-generation NX will adopt a much cleaner but still very dynamic appearance, featuring the signature Lexus front grille with a newly designed mesh, LED headlights and taillights, and a body with smoother lines. The rear end adopts a full-width light bar that’s nicely integrated too.

The cabin of the 2022 NX is where we are most impressed, with the dashboard now featuring a fully digital instrument cluster and a huge touchscreen display for the infotainment system. The raised center console looks to be inspired by the current Toyota Mirai, but overall it looks like a very premium place to sped some time in.

Lexus is expected to introduce the 2022 NX sometime in the next weeks, with the market launch rumored for this fall.
