Bugatti seems to be cooking up yet another special edition variant of the Chiron, and this prototype seen near Stuttgart, in Germany, is proof of that. At a first glance, the entire front end seems similar to the Chiron Super Sport 300+, including the side air intakes and tiny opening in the middle of the bumper, right under the horseshoe grille. It also has several holes on the outer edges of the hood.
The head-scratching begins when moving to
the rear of the hypercar because unlike the Super Sport’s stacked pipe layout,
it has two exhaust tips of a different shape coming out through the middle of
the diffuser, which otherwise looks a bit less aggressive. A pair of reflectors
were also mounted between the bumper and diffuser.
This Bugatti prototype looks very similar
to another one spotted last year, and pretty much every design detail seems the
same, save for the shape of the tailpipes and wheel design. Now, the devil is
obviously in the details, so your guess is as good as ours as to what this may
be.
We will give you a few more seconds to
chew on it, while reminding you that the regular Chiron models use a 1,500 PS 8.0-liter W16 engine, with quad turbocharging. The
official 0-100 km/h takes 2.3 seconds in the Pur Sport, which has a
limited top speed of 350 km/h. The Chiron Super Sport 300+ has a bit
more power, at 1,600 PS.
