Skoda has detailed the base Enyaq iV, which adds the ‘50’ moniker to its name. Pricing starts at € 33,800 (US$ 40,260), but after factoring in the € 6,000 (US$ 7,147) state subsidy and €3,750 (US$ 4,467) manufacturer incentives, it drops to a much lower € 24,230 (US$ 28,861). For comparison, the similarly sized Skoda Kodiaq mid-size crossover with the 2.0 TDI starts from € 29,990 in Germany.
The 2021 Enyaq iV 50 has a 55 kWh battery
powering the 148 PS and 220 Nm electric motor
mounted on the rear axle, which enables a 362-km range on the WLTP
cycle. Standard gear includes the LED headlights and taillights, 18-inch
wheels, two-zone climate control, multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel,
electrically adjustable side mirrors, Virtual Cockpit, 10-inch infotainment
system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, MirrorLink, Bluetooth, DAB digital
radio, two USB-C ports and MySkoda app remote functionality.
A generous host of driver assistance gear
is present too, such as the front radar assist with pedestrian and cyclist
detection, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, speed limiter,
traffic sign recognition and collision avoidance assist. At 4,649 mm long, 1,879 mm wide and 1,616 mm tall, the Enyaq iV is almost
as big as the Kodiaq, which is Skoda’s flagship SUV, but thanks to clever
packaging, the interior space is on par with it. It has a 2,765 mm long wheelbase, 26 mm shorter than the Kodiaq, and a boot capacity of
585 liters with all seats in pace.
Besides the Enyaq iV 50, the lineup also
includes the 60 and 80 versions in Germany, which start at € 38,850 (US$ 46,275)
and € 43,950 (US$ 52,350) respectively.
