Toyota is about to start accepting reservations for the Yaris Cross in the UK. Order books will open on May 4 and customer deliveries will commence in September. The subcompact crossover, which is based on the same platform as the regular Yaris, will be offered in four core trim levels, the Icon, Design, Excel and Dynamic, plus the Premiere Edition which will be available for one year only.
The entry-level version carries an
on-the-road price of £ 22,515 (US$ 31,290). It comes with standard 16-inch
alloy wheels, smart entry and push-button start, rain-sensing wipers and
dusk-sensing headlights, automatic air-con, 8-inch infotainment system with
DAB, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reversing camera, and 2-inch
multi-info display.
Pricing for the 2021 Yaris Cross Design
starts at £ 24,140 (US$ 33,549) and it brings 17-inch wheels, LED projector
headlights, LED taillights, sequential turn signals, aluminum roof rails, rear
privacy windows, light blue ambient lighting, black headlining and 7-inch
multi-info display.
The Yaris Cross Excel comes from £ 26,745
(US$ 37,169) and adds bigger 18-inch wheels, power tailgate, auto-folding side
mirrors, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone climate control, heated front
seats, heated steering wheel, power lumbar adjustment for the driver’s seat and
9-inch infotainment system. Additional safety gear, such as the blind spot
monitoring, rear cross traffic alert with automatic braking, intelligent
parking sensors, clearance sonar and forward automatic braking, are also
standard. Featuring a bi-tone paint finish with black roof, different 18-inch
wheels and optional all-wheel drive, the Yaris Cross Dynamic starts at £ 26,465
(US$ 36,780).
Choosing the Premiere Edition, which is
available from £ 28,185 (US$ 39,170), will get you exclusive 18-inch wheels, black
leather seat upholstery, JBL premium sound system and 10-inch head-up display.
This model can be ordered with an AWD system too. The Toyota Safety Sense suite
is standard across the range. It features a pre-collision system with
pedestrian and cyclist recognition, emergency steering assist, lane departure
alert, lane trace assist, road sign assist, automatic high beams, eCall
function and adaptive cruise control.
The Yaris Cross can be specified with
extra items, such as the Tech Pack on the Design, the City Pack on the Excel
and above, and a panoramic sunroof and JBL audio on the Excel and Dynamic.
Europe’s 2021 Yaris Cross is powered by a 1.5-liter hybrid powertrain with a
total output of 116 PS.
