Volkswagen has made the ID.3 range more affordable in the United Kingdom by launching the new Pure Performance variant. Offered in the City and Style trim levels, it is priced from £ 28,370 (US$ 38,986) and £ 32,470 (US$ 44,620) respectively, including the government grant. Powering the electric motor, which develops 150 PS and 310 Nm of torque, is a 45 kWh battery. It can be charged from 5 to 100 percent in seven and a half hours at a 7.2 kW connection and supports DC fast charging, which can take it from 5 to 80 percent in 31 minutes.
The total driving range is 350 km in the City and 346 km in the Style. As far as performance
is concerned, the new setup allows the entry-level ID.3 to accelerate to 100
km/h in 8.9 seconds. At 160 km/h, the top speed is identical
to the rest of the ID.3 family.
The ID.3 City Pure Performance is equipped
with standard LED head- and taillights, a 10-inch infotainment system, heated
front seats and steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rearview
mirror and USB-C ports. It also comes with a suite of driver assistance
features, which includes lane assist, forward collision warning, pro-active
pedestrian protection, adaptive cruise control, and front and rear parking
sensors.
The ID.3 Style Pure Performance adds
different wheels, LED matrix headlights connected by a light strip, tinted rear
windows, 30-color interior ambient lighting, two-zone climate control, reversing
camera, and keyless entry.
