The 2022 Audi RS e-tron GT will arrive in the U.S. this weekend, before launching nationwide this summer. The hot electric sedan will celebrate its local premiere on Sunday, April 25, in Malibu, California, at the Cars and Coffee event near the Malibu Kitchen. Those looking to check it out in person will have from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. PDT (1:00-3:00 p.m. EST) to do so, and the automaker advises participants to maintain social distancing and wear a facemask.
The RS tops the e-tron GT’s lineup,
offering supercar-rivaling performance and an estimated range of 373
km on a single charge. Its dual-motor setup provides a combined output of 590
HP, and up to 637 HP with overboost, and a total system torque of 830
Nm. From rest to 0-96 km/h, it needs just 3.1 seconds, on par with
the V10-powered R8 supercar, and it will max out at 250 km/h.
Customers will also get to choose the
lesser, non-RS variant of the EV, which has ‘only’ 469 HP and 629
Nm of torque available on tap, or up to 522 HP and 640 Nm with
overboost for 2.5 seconds. The 2022 e-tron GT is a bit slower to 96
km/h than the RS, taking 3.9 seconds to get there, and it has a maximum speed
of 245 km/h, as well as an estimated range of 383 km.
