Aston Martin has unveiled a special variant of the forthcoming V12 Speedster that pays tribute to the DBR1 that claimed victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1959 and the 1,000 Km of Nurburgring in 1957, 1958, and 1959. The British car manufacturer will build just 88 examples of the V12 Speedster and those buyers after a particularly eye-catching example will now be able to order the DBR1 specification.
Differentiating the Aston Martin V12
Speedster DBR1 specification from others is its Aston Martin Racing Green paint
finish, Clubsport White pinstripes, and a Satin Silver anodized front grille
with a ‘lipstick’ graphic. The exterior finish of the DBR1 specification is so
special that it takes more than 50 hours to come to life at Aston Martin’s
advanced paint facility.
Other changes made to the model are the
fitment of bespoke diamond-turned 21-inch centerlock wheels. Aston Martin has
also tweaked the interior of the DBR1 specification, installing a host of
carbon fiber accents, Caithness Green leather, and fitting satin silver brushed
aluminum switchgear.
Powering all V12 Speedster models will be
the car manufacturer’s 5.2-liter twin-turbocharged V12 pumping out 690 hp and 752 Nm of torque.
