Chinese automaker GAC has facelifted its smallest four-door model on offer: the GA4. The new model is called “GA4 Plus” and will be available alongside the original one from three years ago. The official launch event will take place in Shanghai, China in April. New exterior elements will encompass a hood, both bumpers, a radiator grille, and LED lights. At 4,735 mm long, the facelifted car is 43 mm longer while preserving its other dimensions (W: 1,805 mm; H: 1,500 mm; WB: 2,660 mm). The trunk size stays unchanged at 480 liters, and the tires still measure 205/55 R16 and 205/50 R17.

Interestingly enough, a number of Chinese media claim that the GA4 Plus comes based on a new platform known as GPMA, but its near-identical dimensions and other parameters suggest otherwise. Inside, the center display is now 10.25 inches large instead of 8. Unlike the GS3, the car has no digital dashboard. The multi-function steering wheel, the gear stick and the HVAC controls are the same as before.

Powering the ride is a 1.5-liter turbo three-pot rated at 163 PS and 235 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed DCT. The old 1.3-liter turbo-four with 137 PS / 202 Nm is no longer available, nor is the 1.5-liter non-turbo with 114 PS / 150 Nm.

The pre-facelift GAC GA4 costs between 73,800 and 115,800 Yuan in China. Earlier rumors suggested that the GA4 would be discontinued in favor of the new EMPOW55 sedan, but this is apparently not the case.
