MG has released a set of real-life images of its new Cyberster concept ahead of its public debut at the Shanghai Auto Show. MG’s new two-seater sports car concept draws inspiration from the classic MGB Roadster for its design while riding on an all-electric architecture. The company claims that it’ll cover around 800 km on a full charge while achieving 0-100 km/h in less than 3 seconds too. The SAIC-owned MG didn’t reveal any horsepower figures or battery specs.

The front end of the new Cyberster concept features a classically shaped MG grille that’s also serving as an air duct to ensure airflow over the vehicle’s chassis while the ‘Magic Eye’ headlights open when switched on. The bodywork also features LED strips running down its sides and a ’kamm tail’ flat rear end with a distinctive LED light signature that “echoes MG’s British heritage.

The interior is purely driver-centric, separating the cockpit for the driver and passenger, and comes with a large digital instrument cluster and a second central screen. The electric Cyberster also comes with 5G connectivity, ‘zero gravity’ seats with floating head restraints, as well as door panels and red leather handles that “reflect the ‘laser belt’ that runs down the car’s exterior”.

MG will reveal more information on the Cyberster concept once it makes its official public debut at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 21.
