Audi USA today announced the updates for its lineup of model year 2022 Audi Sport vehicles. All models will receive more content and some will also get performance upgrades. First of all, the R8 RWD will be getting more power. Known as the R8 performance RWD, power will be bumped from 532 horsepower to 562 horsepower while torque is increased from 398 lb-ft to 406 lb-ft.

Audi’s supercar will also gain a Sport Exhaust Package and a Dynamic Package. The former includes a four-button steering wheel with Performance modes and a sport exhaust system with black exhaust tips, while the latter adds ceramic brake discs, 20-inch wheels, and racing shell seats finished Fine Nappa leather.

The RS6 Avant and RS7 also get some upgrades, though not in the form of power, which stays at 591 hp. Instead, their updates will come in the form of available Dynamic Ride Control. The system is fully mechanical and minimizes body roll. By linking shock absorbers at opposite ends of the car with hydraulic lines, and fitting a central valve in the damper, the car can regulate the flow of oil through the shocks. That means there’s less heaving from front to rear and less roll from side to side through corners, making the car corner flatter and feel sportier.

 

Owners who love big wheels will also be able to option their cars with 22-inch wheels in the Carbon and Black optic packages. The new RS Design Package, meanwhile, will add red or gray borders to the black seatbelts, an RS logo and contrast stitching to the floor mats, and contrast stitching to the Alcantara gear selector and steering wheel. Speaking of which, a flat-bottomed wheel with hands-on detection returns to the lineup after a brief hiatus and is standard on both the RS6 Avant and RS7.

Additions to the RS5 Coupe and Sportback will mostly be aesthetic. It will also get an RS Design Package with the same red stitching. It can alternatively be selected with the Bronze Styling Package that includes black Audi rings and badges, a matte carbon front spoiler and rear diffusor, RS carbon matte inlays, matte carbon exterior side mirror housings, the Audi exclusive Bronze stitch interior package, and 20-inch wheels with a bronze finish. If you’re looking for a little more top speed out of your RS5, though, you can opt for the Dynamic Plus Package, which introduces a 280 km/h top track speed limiter, a carbon engine cover, grey brake calipers, and ceramic front brakes.

Finally, the RS Q8 comes with a number of safety updates. Adaptive cruise control that can bring you to a full stop in traffic jams and will keep you in your lane is now standard. If you want to add to that system, the Executive Package will offer traffic sign recognition and Intersection Assist. Finally, the RS Q8 will also be offered with the RS Design Package.
