Hyundai has announced pricing and range details for its the new Ioniq 5 electric crossover for the UK market. The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 will start from £ 36,995 (US$ 45,000) and will be offered with RWD and AWD powertrains, the choice between a 58 kWh or a 73 kWh battery pack, and 800-volt charging as standard, which means you can plug it into a 350kW rapid charger and reach an 80 percent charge in just 18 minutes.

The charging time with the onboard 10.5 kW charger is just shy of 5 hours for the small battery and just over 6 hours for models with the bigger battery. The entry-level SE Connect variant of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 features the 58 kWh battery pack and a 167 HP electric motor driving the rear wheels, promising a driving range of 386 km on the WLTP cycle.

 

The standard equipment of the Ioniq 5 SE Connect includes 19-inch alloy wheels, mood lighting, an acoustic windshield, a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, cloth upholstery from “naturally derived polyester resin”, and more. The Ioniq 5 with the bigger 73 kWh battery pack and a single 214 HP electric motor driving the rear wheels, priced from £ 41,945, is the model with the longest range in the lineup, offering up to 482 km with a full charge.

Range-topping variants of the Ioniq 5 come with a 302 HP dual-motor setup for all-wheel-drive and the 73 kWh battery pack, starting from £ 45,145. The driving range here is rated at up to 461 km, while 0-100 km/h comes in  5.2 seconds.

 

Apart from the entry-level SE Connect trim level, the range of the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 includes the Premium, and Ultimate trims, next to the special launch edition Project 45.  Customers can also opt for the Eco Pack, which adds a Battery Heating system and a heat pump, while the Tech Pack adds Front Memory Seats, Relaxation Premium Seats, and more.
