Not long after Lamborghini was first spotted testing a Huracan STO at the Nurburgring, the spy photographers have managed to snap some photos of the car during its testing regime and apparently, Lamborghini might be chasing a new production car lap record.
It is understood that the automaker has
brought two examples of the Huracan STO to the ‘Ring and spent several days
fine-tuning them. In some of these spy shots, engineers can be seen working on
the cars and have also brought with them a Lamborghini Urus towing a trailer
filled with parts, including several barrels of Panto racing fuel. Evidently,
they are keen to extract as much performance out of the STO as possible.

being put to the test on the circuit also shows the driver pushing the car to
its limits through some of the track’s most difficult sections. It’s also
impossible not to notejust how good the 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10
sounds.
The Huracan Performante famously lapped the
‘Ring in 6:52.01 back in late 2016 and the STO certainly has the potential to
be even faster thanks to its Squadra Corse-inspired aerodynamic bodywork that
includes a revised front fascia, unique rocker panels, a roof scoop, and a
towering rear wing. The STO also weighs 43 kg less than the
Performante while its V10 churns out 631 hp. It is also rear-wheel drive,
resulting in less drivetrain loss than other Huracan variants.
