Almost one year after the official unveiling, the Nissan Ariya has celebrated its public premiere at the Monaco Circuit. The electric coupe crossover completed a few laps of the famous track in the French Riviera, accompanied by the company’s e.dams Formula E racer, and also took to the surrounding area for a photo and video shoot.
Staying true to the 2019 concept that
previewed it, the Ariya features a futuristic styling on the outside and a
minimalist cabin that brings everything required from a modern ride, such as
the large infotainment system that supports over-the-air updates and digital
dials, each one with a 12.3-inch screen. It is equipped with the brand’s
ProPilot 2.0 safety bundle that includes remote parking and semi-autonomous
driving.
Two rear-wheel-drive variants are
positioned at the lower end of the range, with a 65 and 90 kWh battery, and 215
and 239 HP respectively. The quoted range is 451-610 km respectively, and they can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 and
7.6 seconds, with a 159 km/h top speed. The AWD versions use the same
battery packs and bring 335 and 389 HP, having a targeted range of 430-579 km respectively. The sprint time drops to 5.4 and 5.1 seconds,
and the top speed stands at 200 km/h.
The Ariya will launch in Japan this
summer, priced at 5 million yen (US$ 45,885), and will arrive in North
America, Europe, and China by the end of the year.
