Toyota unveiled the exterior of the 2022 Tundra last week, and now we’re getting our first glimpse inside the cabin. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to see as the company released a panoramic photo which largely shows the windshield.

However, a few things are visible including a widescreen infotainment system with a freestanding display. We can also see a perforated leather steering wheel with a red center stripe. Furthermore, the A-pillars are outfitted with grab handles and small speakers. Finally, there’s a new overhead console and a rearview mirror that appears to have HomeLink.

Toyota didn’t say much about the redesigned truck, but last week’s image revealed the rugged Tundra TRD Pro. It features a prominent mesh grille with “TOYOTA” lettering as well as marker lights and an auxiliary light bar. The truck also sports T-shaped headlights, pronounced fender flares and a stylish beltline. Rounding out the highlights are blacked out A-pillars, tubular rock rails and black TRD wheels with meaty tires.

The automaker has been tight-lipped on specifics, but officials have previously said the truck will come with two new engines including an entry-level unit that produces “substantially” more power and torque than the current 5.7-liter V8 which has 381 hp and 544 Nm of torque. While nothing is official, the Land Cruiser’s new twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 would fit that bill as it develops 409 hp and 650 Nm of torque.

The second powertrain is more mysterious, but it promises to ‘blow people away.’ It’s expected to be a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain as Toyota recently confirmed plans to “bring electrification to its pickup truck lineup in the near future.”
