As standard, the GMC Hummer EV will be a very capable off-roader but it will also be offered with a so-called ‘Extreme Off-Road Package’ and thanks to a new report, we now know what it will include. GM Trucks reports that the package will initially come standard on the Hummer EV but will become an optional extra in 2022 and 2023 when lower-spec versions go on sale.

Included with the Extreme Off-Road Package are 18-inch black aluminum wheels with machined accents, 305/70 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires, skid plates for the front different, battery, and rear differential, an electronically-locking front different with heavy-duty ball spline half shafts, virtual electronic-locking rear differential with heavy-duty ball spline half shafts, forward and rearward underbody cameras, rubber flooring with rubber inserts, and premium floor liners.

The report adds that the Extreme Off-Road Package will include two extra underbody cameras to improve visibility, although it is unclear where they will be mounted. The first variant of the GMC Hummer EV offered to customers will be the Edition 1. This model comes standard with three electric motors pumping out 1,000 hp and 15,592 Nm of torque while receiving their juice from a massive 200 kWh Ultium battery pack. While this model will reportedly weigh over (4,100 kg), it will be able to hit 96 km/h in just three seconds and offer up a range exceeding 563 km.
