Kia’s Ceed Range is already shaping up for a nip and tuck, as multiple variants of the sensible family car have been spied testing, clad in camouflage. Once again, our spies were able to snag images of the refreshed ProCeed, both inside and out. The swoopy estate/wagon is a popular family car choice for those who prefer not to resign themselves to an SUV — at least, it is where it’s offered, as those stateside aren’t able to access this Korean long-roof. The new ProCeed continues to sport the almost tear-drop-like styling with hints of the Mercedes-Benz CLS and Kia’s own Stinger.

The exterior’s two most notable changes are to the grille and the lights. The grille has a narrowing middle section, with a thicker surround — two aspects that make it look more prominent and a touch more aggressive. The lights feature newly-positioned LED DRLs, with four dots on either side, in a style that would appear to mimic that of Porsche.

The front bumper, with its red-accented mid inserts, would suggest that the car on test is a GT. Compared to the current GT, the lower intake on the bumper is narrower and features aggressively raked surrounds. The last time the ProCeed was spied, it was sporting Kia’s new logo, proudly displayed on the alloy wheel center caps. This time all badges have been removed, and even the interior shots appear to have the logos either missing or taped over. However, at this point, it’s a foregone conclusion that the facelifted ProCeed will feature Kia’s new corporate identity.

With these latest snaps, we get our first look at the inside of the refreshed ProCeed. It features mild revisions to the interior, with the central infotainment screen seemingly placed lower in the dash than the current model.

The HVAC and infotainment button clusters are now more clearly separated with a metal or metal-colored plastic trim placed just below the central screen. This splash of color undoubtedly gives a slightly more premium feel to the interior, which, on the outgoing model, was starting to feel a tad drab. Meanwhile, the steering wheel appears to be the same, with a flat bottom and perforated leather, again an indicator that this is a ProCeed GT.

Powertrains are yet to be announced, but according to reports, the revised ProCeed will feature a selection of mild-hybrid systems as standard. Such a move would follow in the footsteps of sister company Hyundai, with the MHEV on its updated i30 range. We expect the 2022 Kia ProCeed to make a debut during the second half of 2021.
