Chevrolet is working on an all-new Colorado, but it hasn’t forgotten about the current truck as the 2022 model is gaining a new Trail Boss package. Available on LT and Z71 trims, the dealer installed package is designed to make the truck a bit more rugged. As part of this effort, the model eschews the front air dam and gains a 1-inch lift kit. The changes don’t stop there as the package also includes front and mid skid plates as well as black 17-inch wheels. Rounding out the highlights are black badges and red tow hooks.

The Trail Boss package reportedly costs US$ 2,895 on the Z71 and US$ 2,995 on the LT. That’s not bad considering they effectively turn the truck into a Colorado ZR2 Lite. Since the Colorado received a facelift last year and a redesigned model is on the horizon, there aren’t any other major changes for 2022. As a result, engine options carry over and include a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 200 hp and 259 Nm of torque. Customers can also upgrade to a 3.6-liter V6 developing 308 hp and 373 Nm of torque, while the 2.8-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder, which puts out 181 hp and 500 Nm of torque, is also making a return.
