A British transport manufacturer by the name of Electric Assisted Vehicles Limited (EAV) has just unveiled a unique modular multipurpose vehicle dubbed the Lightweight Inner-City Solution (LINCS). Underpinning the vehicle is a lightweight aluminum skateboard platform that features two in-hub electric motors sourced from Saietta Group. The motors get their juice from a removable lithium-ion battery pack that can provide up to 160 km of range in urban and intra-urban environments.
EAV has designed the vehicle to suit markets around the world so the driver’s cab can easily move from the left to the right side. It has also been futureproofed for fully-autonomous operations and has a ‘road train’ feature where multiple vehicles can be linked together.
The company has tried to minimize its environmental impact by equipping the LINCS with a recyclable composite bodywork and using fully recycled aluminum for the vehicle’s platform.
