Hennessey has a birthday coming up and to celebrate the occasion, it will send off the 1,000 hp Chevrolet Camaro dubbed “The Exorcist” with a run of 30 Anniversary Edition cars. Each of the final 30 examples of the Exorcist will feature a special 30th-anniversary logo surrounded by laurel on the car’s front flanks, set behind the wheels. They will all also be individually numbered with an Anniversary Edition chassis plate showing the specific car’s build number as one of the 30.

Designed to “slay the Dodge Demon,” Hennessey re-calibrated and improved the Camaro’s drivetrain thoroughly to make The Exorcist. It gets a high-flow supercharger and air induction system, a custom camshaft, ported cylinder heads, long-tube stainless steel headers, and a high-flow catalytic converter.

It also gets an auxiliary fuel system upgrade, better valve springs and retainers, upgraded intake and exhaust valves, improved lifters and pushrods, an oversized heat exchanger, new gaskets and fluids, and more. All of which means that The Exorcist (Anniversary Edition or not) churns out 1,000 hp and 1,197 Nm of torque. That’s enough to get the car off the line and up to 96 km/h in just 2.1 seconds, through the quarter-mile in 9.57 seconds at 236 km/h, and all the way up to a top speed of 349 km/h.

The cost for the Anniversary Edition Exorcist (including the base Camaro ZL1), is US$ 135,000. That’s a hefty sum, but it comes with a two-year/24,000-mile (38,624 km) warranty.
