The first interior photos of the Ineos Grenadier have been released before production of the off-roader starts in mid-2022. The Grenadier is the brainchild of billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the owner of chemicals giant Ineos. It has been in development for a number of years now and for the first time, we get to see what the interior looks like.
Much of the cabin is clad in durable, stain-resistant materials that means it can be hosed out, while there are drain holes on the floor. Dominating the cabin is a prominent center console with large buttons and dials for things like the climate control, seat heating, window heating, and audio system. In addition, the Grenadier features a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, an analog clock, and a plethora of additional switches on the roof. It looks rugged but with a splash of modern technology.
One component of the Grenadier that really stands out is the BMW-sourced gear selector. This is because the Grenadier will be offered with BMW-sourced six-cylinder petrol and diesel powertrains that are paired to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission also sourced from current BMW models. Positioned next to this gear selector is a manual lever for the low-range transfer case.
