Kimera Automobili will use the Goodwood Festival of Speed to stage the international debut of their new EVO37. Set to be unveiled in prototype form, the model draws inspiration from the Lancia 037 and is described as an “authentic evolution” that takes cues from the restomod movement. Like the original, the EVO37 is based on the Lancia Beta Montecarlo but features a “completely revised and modified” chassis as well as a modern suspension with Öhlins adjustable shock absorbers. The model also sports 18- and 19-inch wheels that are backed up by a high-performance Brembo braking system.

While the exterior is decidedly old school, it features a carbon fiber body which has been lightly revised to increase the “cleanliness of the lines” as well as improve “structural / functional solidity and perceived quality.” The model also has LED lighting units and carbon fiber components.

Kimera hasn’t released interior pictures, but has previously said the model will be a two seater with leather and Alcantara upholstery as well as carbon fiber trim. Drivers will also find analog gauges, a proper handbrake and four-point seat belts.

The company has given conflicting information about the engine, but it will be a turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder with a displacement of either 2- or 2.15-liters. It was originally slated to produce 498 hp and 550 Nm of torque, but the latest release suggests the output has dropped to 493 hp.

Hopefully we’ll get concrete numbers at the Goodwood Festival of Speed but, if not, they should be released ahead of deliveries this September. Speaking of the latter, Kimera says 20 of the 37 units have already been spoken for.
