The Genesis G90 has finally dropped the loose, silhouette-hiding black paddings and is down to just its dazzle camo as it prepares for its upcoming launch. Although some of the design details are still hidden, we’re getting a much better idea of what’s to come with Genesis’ big new S-Class competitor. Long and low, we can see the beltline that runs the length of the car angling down at the back where the rear passenger-side window goes up.
The grille, though still largely hidden, will presumably follow Genesis’ tradition of being shield-shaped, a motif that is continued at the rear, with the tailpipes. win headlights can be seen at the front, with two lights right behind the front wheel arch to make it look like they’re stretching around the front to the side of the car under what looks like a massive almost clamshell hood. This variant was also wearing some sweet looking large rims with an intricate design.
Caught testing at the Nurburgring by our spy photographers, it looks like the test drivers were having a pretty good time at the track as the car can be seen almost lifting a wheel on its way into a banked left-hander. Although we still don’t know what’s powering it around the track, reports suggest that Genesis’ parent company Hyundai is killing off the 5.0-liter V8 that powers the outgoing G90. In its place, we’re expecting to see a twin-turbo V6 displacing 3.5-liters.
Rumor also has it that Genesis could opt to unveil the new G90 before the end of the year, though it’s likely to do so in its home market of Korea before it shows it elsewhere.
