Lincoln has dropped the first teaser of the 2022 Navigator that will be officially unveiled online on August 18, at 11 am EST. The video previews the front fascia of the new SUV and shows that it will receive a set of more stylish headlights complete with redesigned LED daytime running lights. The teaser also showcases the grille of the Navigator which appears to have been carried over from the outgoing model. No other alterations are highlighted in this video but we suspect the 2022 Navigator will also benefit from some discreet alterations at the rear, including new taillights and a different bumper.

Lincoln can also be expected to make some changes to the interior of the Navigator and will apparently install a larger screen for the infotainment, which should also run Ford’s SYNC 4 system. Powertrain details remain unclear. The current fourth-generation Navigator was first introduced at the New York Auto Show in 2017 and has the same 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 as the Ford F-150 Raptor, pumping out the same 450 hp and 677 Nm and paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

We expect this engine to remain but Ford may also decide now is the time to introduce a hybrid variant of the Navigator and could do so with the hybrid powertrain of the F-150 PowerBoost that pairs its 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 with a 47 hp electric motor located within the transmission and fed by a 1.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It produces a total of 430 hp and 772 Nm in the F-150.
