Abarth Australia has confirmed that 30 examples of the limited-run 595 Scorpioneoro are heading Down Under. Abarth unveiled the model 12 months ago as a homage to the 1979 A112 Abarth ‘Gold Ring,’ also known as the ‘Targa Oro.’ Global production of the car is limited to 2,000 units.
Immediately making the 595
Scorpioneoro stand out from other models is the combination of a black paint
scheme with decorative gold accents. Key parts finished in gold include the
17-inch wheels, Abarth stickers on the doors, an Abarth scorpion sticker on the
hood, and a gold accent line running across the front end, down the sides, and
through the rear. Gold badges are also featured and the car also comes standard
with a matte black chequered flag roof.
The unique features continue
into the cabin where there are sport seats with leather upholstery and
embroidered headrests. Various matte black details are also featured across the
dashboard while the central tunnel also has a unique gold badge. The car also
comes with a Uconnect infotainment system with DAB, Apple CarPlay, and Android
Auto, as well as automatic climate control, a Beats audio system, and exclusive
floor mats.
Powering the Abarth 595 is a
1.4-liter turbocharged T-Jet four-cylinder engine with 162 hp and 230 Nm of torque, allowing it to hit 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. As
standard, it comes with a five-speed manual transmission but customers can also
order a robotized sequential transmission with paddle shifters. Local pricing
starts at AU$ 31,450 (US$ 23,272) for the five-speed manual and AU$ 33,600
(US$ 24,862) for the automatic.
