Yet another unknown car manufacturer has thrown its hat into the ever-growing pool of electric hypercars and unveiled this: the Azani. The company behind this creation is an Indian brand dubbed Mean Metal Motors. The car only currently exists in digital form but some bold claims have already been made about it.
For starters, Mean Metal Motors claims that it is underpinned by a carbon fiber monocoque with aluminum crash structures. Power comes from electric motors (it is unclear how many), making for a total of 1,000 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque. That should be enough to send the car to 96 km/h in just 2.1 seconds and through to a 354 km/h top speed. What’s more, the Azani apparently has a 120 kWh battery pack capable of giving it up to 523 km of range on a single charge.
The Azani is not just about straight-line performance, though. The Indian company says it has double-wishbone suspension with adaptive damping and electronic power steering. It also features ventilated carbon-ceramic brake discs and will come with torque vectoring. A number of driver-assistance functions are also on the cards, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot detection, a collision-avoidance system, emergency braking, and automatic lane changing.
It remains to be seen when the company intends on starting production but it is looking for investors on its website as making a car from the ground-up isn’t cheap. Reservations are also open.
