Ford is returning to the Rebelle Rally and this year the Bronco Sport is being joined by its big brother. The all-female rally kicks off on October 8th and will see professional off-roader Shelby Hall and navigator Penny Dale attempt to repeat a first place finish. While the duo claimed victory in a Bronco Sport last year, this time they’ll be using a two-door Bronco in the 4×4 class. They won’t be alone as Kathryn Reinhardt and Victoria Bundrant will also be competing in the 4×4 class with a four-door Bronco.

Since off-roading is a family affair, Ford is bringing the Bronco Sport along for the ride. It will once again compete in the X-cross class, but be driven by professional off-roaders Melissa Fischer and Cora Jokinen.

The Bronco Sport and four-door Bronco are based on the Badlands trim, while the two-door model is based on the Wildtrak and comes equipped with the Sasquatch Package. They’re largely stock, but the four-door Bronco will be accessorized by the 4Wheel Parts team. It’s also worth mentioning that all three feature an eye-catching livery inspired by the Bronco 4600 that will compete in the ULTRA4 stock class off-road series.

The Rebelle Rally starts near the Hoover Dam and takes competitors on a 1,200+ mile (1,931+ km) route that traverses California and Nevada. While participants will have to contend with rough terrain, that’s only part of the battle as GPS isn’t allowed. As Bronco Sport marketing manager Jovina Young explained, “The No. 1 obstacle at Rebelle is your navigation, but the terrain definitely challenges the vehicles and these competitive women too.”
