Great Wall has shared some fresh images of its latest SUV, the Tank 600. The car seems comparable to the Land Cruiser 200 and 300 in terms of size, and will debut in Chengdu, China on August 29, 2021.
A new unitized platform enables the Tank 600 to have a longitudinally mounted engine, per-wheel front suspension, and a solid rear axle. Power comes from a new 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 burning petrol for 354 PS and 500 Nm of torque. A 48V electric add-on helps with a bit of its own power and torque, and a nine-speed automatic transmission delivers the momentum to the wheels.
All other details remain to be revealed. Expected features include rich trim options and plentiful electronic aids. The first Tank-badged vehicle was the Tank 300. That model came equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder, and is still quite popular in China. Its other notable specifications are 8-speed A/T, AWD, reduction gear, and inter-wheel diff locks.
Tank 700 and 800 models are both on the schedule, and have already debuted in a show car status in China. Both will be based on the same chassis as the Tank 600, but the 700 will offer more aggression and off-road performance, while the 800 will prioritize luxury.
