Mercedes-AMG G63 Project Kahn “Carbon Wide Track Edition”

 

British designer Afzal Kahn and his team presented their version of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class based on the flagship AMG G63 variant, complete with a carbon-fiber bodykit, new wheels, and interior upgrades. Project Kahn‘s “Carbon Wide Track Edition” as it is called looks a lot more aggressive compared to the stock version, offering many customization options for any G-Wagen owner.

The bodykit, made entirely of exposed carbon fiber, includes front bumper add-ons above and below the intakes, a new grille, a bonnet overlay, and a roof shield with integrated LEDs. The wide front and rear fenders complement the huge 23-inch Kahn Type 57 Monoblock forged wheels shod in Continental SportContact 6 tires. The profile also hosts the optional crosshair exhaust with a diameter of 100 mm, while at the back there is a double roof spoiler.

 

Project Kahn didn’t mess up with the already powerful AMG’s twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 which produces 577 hp and 850 Nm of torque right from the factory. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission. The stock G63 accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds while top speed is limited to 240 mph with the optional AMG Driver’s package.

The pictured vehicle which is slightly used as the previous owner drove it for 645 km after he bought it in 2021, is offered for sale at a price of £ 224,999 which translates to US$ 309,188. Alternatively, if you already own a G-Class, you can order the carbon-fiber bodykit for £ 15,000 (US$ 20,609), the carbon roof shield with integrated LED lights for £ 2,400 (US$ 3,300), and the 23-inch monoblock wheels for £ 7,999.97 (US$ 10,994) – although you can get the same wheel design for £ 3,999.98 (US$ 5,497).

For a matching atmosphere in the cabin, the carbon interior package will cost you £ 2,400 (US$ 3,300) and the carbon steering wheel £ 1,999.99 (US$ 2,750) – both of those options are not fitted on the presentation vehicle. Last but not least, tailor-made options are available for the upholstery – like the Bengal Red interior package seen on the pictures.
