Here’s quarter-litre class motorcycle Malaysian riders don’t get, the 2021 TVS Apache 310RR, which was recently updated in its home market of India. Enhancing the TVR customer experience, the Apache 310RR now comes “Built To Order” with a choice of two performance packs, Dynamic and Race. However, things have moved ahead in India, TVS updating the Apache 310RR with an eye to improving engine and handling performance. New for 2021 is the exhaust system on the Apache 310RR, allowing the 312 cc, single-cylinder mill -the same unit used in the BMW Motorrad G310R and G310GS to produce 34 hp at 9,700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm.
Inside the cockpit, an LCD display which TVS dubs the Multi Information Race Computer, allows connectivity to the rider’s smartphone. LED projector headlights and taillights are used for illumination while two-channel ABS and rear wheel lift prevention is standard equipment. The Built To Order Apache 301RR can be configured using the TVS Drive app and web configurator, allowing the rider to choose between one of two available options – Dynamic and Race – which can also be combined. After selecting the Apache 310RR variant and option package, a booking can be made, or, if preferred, full payment can be made, with the order then transmitted to an authorised TVS dealer to complete the sales process and make delivery.
First of the two Apache 310RR packages is Dynamic which installs fully-adjustable KYB upside-down front forks with 20-step damping adjustment while preload is adjustable through a 15 mm range. The KYB monoshock supplied in the Performance kit give damping adjustment through 20 steps plus 10-step preload adjustability with a brass-coated performance chain completing the package. For the Race pack, a set of performance clip-on handlebars is supplied, placing the rider in an aggressive racing crouch on the Apache 310RR. A pair of rearsets lift the rider’s feet higher and further back for more lean angle while knurled pegs on the footpegs give grip under fast riding conditions.
Rounding out the Built To Order option for the Apache 310RR is race replica graphics, inspired by the TVS Racing OMC race bike livery. Another option available is the application of the rider’s race number, or any other preferred racing number on the front fairing.
